Accountant / Bookkeeper (Construction Focus)

This role owns the full accounting cycle for construction projects — from payables and receivables to job cost tracking, reconciliations, and draw management. The right candidate will ensure financial accuracy, maintain healthy cash flow, and deliver transparent reporting to leadership, lenders, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Receive, log, and process vendor invoices through BuilderTrend & QuickBooks .

  • Code invoices to the correct project, budget category, and cost code.

  • Coordinate invoice approvals with Project Managers and Owners.

  • Prepare and distribute vendor payments (ACH/check).

  • Manage AR including client invoicing, draw request processing, and collection follow-up .

Project Accounting & Job Costing

  • Set up financial accounts for each project in QuickBooks .

  • Maintain daily transaction logs and attach all invoice documentation.

  • Perform biweekly budget reconciliations, prepare variance reports, and distribute to PMs for review .

  • Move costs appropriately between P&L and Balance Sheet.

Draw Requests

  • Compile and reconcile Unpaid Bill by Job reports .

  • Prepare client draw packages with invoices, summaries, and supporting documentation.

  • Submit and track draws with lenders or clients, verify disbursements, and log receipts.

  • Maintain master draw schedules and update project cash flow.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections .

  • Reconcile loan accounts, vendor accounts, and client retainage.

  • Present monthly and closing financial packages to leadership.

  • Conduct post-project financial analysis and update historical cost data.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain strict record-keeping protocols for all invoices, draws, payments, and approvals.

  • Archive financial documents in Dropbox per SOP.

  • Ensure processes align with company internal controls and external compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience (construction or project-based industry preferred).

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, BuilderTrend (or similar PM software), and Excel.

  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting, draw cycles, and reconciliation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong communication skills for coordination with PMs, clients, and vendors.

Residential Construction Project Manager

This role is central to ensuring project accuracy, seamless communication, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in collaboration, communicates with clarity, and ensures every detail - from design intent to field execution - stays aligned. You will lead 2-3 Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and serve as the vital link that keeps every phase of the project connected.

Key ResponsibilitieS

  • Participate in client meetings for plan reviews, budgeting, and design discussions.

  • Develop bid specifications and oversee subcontractor scopes of work.

  • Supervise 2-3 Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents in the field.

  • Verify subcontractors are onsite, performing per schedule, and delivering per plans.

  • Ensure job site safety, cleanliness, and quality control.

  • Review and validate subcontractor and vendor invoices against work performed.

  • Update job schedules and maintain daily logs.

  • Coordinate site readiness for walkthroughs with clients, designers, and trade partners.

  • Proactively identify and communicate project issues to leadership.

  • Oversee post-completion warranty work to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in residential construction project management (luxury/custom home experience preferred).

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple job sites and field teams.

  • Proficiency with construction management software (JobTread, BuilderTrend, or similar).

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a detail-focused mindset.

  • Ability to interpret and enforce design compliance and quality standards.

  • High school diploma or GED required; further education in construction management preferred.

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to stay laser-focused under pressure.
